The transfer of skills plays a very important role in our day to day
life. The situation in which children learn is rarely identical to the
situation in which they apply and use that learning. Whatever skills children learn in school; they
are expected to apply in life.
For example, they learn arithmetic in the
classroom and apply it while shopping with mom. The transfer of learned skills is learning skills in one context and
applying them to another, i.e. the child can take previously acquired skills
and use them effectively in a new setting.
One of the most exciting features that we offer is the Academic Transfer Lab application, which allows us to monitor a student’s attention while they are working on real-life tasks or activities. The nature of the tasks can be almost anything, from a reading assignment or a sheet of math problems for a school-aged child to replying to emails or filling out a tax return for an adult. Academic Transfer Lab is an effective way to make sure skills taught at our centres are transferred into everyday life.
